The Ultimate Guide to Pampering Yourself at Home
Note from Lana | Lifestyle Queen Bee: With all the running around, neverending To Do lists and last minute shopping that comes with the holidays, you may not realize exactly how stressed you are. Now that we’ve made it through, give yourself a bit of ‘me’ time to unwind and reset yourself for the new year so you can tackle your new goals with a refreshed and relaxed mind. Guest Blogger, Aurora, has a great post on how you can achieve ultimate relaxation in the comfort of your home.
We all deserve a little bit of pampering.
Life can easily become stressful and overwhelming, and one of the best ways to distract yourself and unwind a little bit is by letting yourself get pampered. Depending on your favorite way to be pampered, your self-care can get to be a little bit pricey.
Self-care is incredibly important, still, so if you find yourself on a tight budget and in need of some serious pampering, here are a few easy and great ways to pamper yourself at home.
Set The Scene
There’s just something about going into a spa that instantly soothes and relaxes you, which is the desired effect when you want to be pampered.
Even if you put on your favorite face mask and take a bubble bath, it just won’t feel the same as if you go to a spa. Why? Because you’re not setting the tone for the ultimate relaxation experience. You have to set the scene, to make it easier for you to get into that relaxation mood you’re seeking. Dim the lights a little, set up candles that will make the whole room smell more calming, and get ready for a great experience.

Head To Toe Experience
To really pamper yourself at home, give yourself the opportunity to give yourself the full treatment.
Give yourself a foot bath, followed by a pedicure. Take a hot bubble bath with Epsom salts, to help your body relax and detox. Try out a new sugar scrub, which will leave your skin smooth and soft. Get a mask for both your face and your hair. Let them both sit for ample amounts of time before rinsing, to get the best possible results. A manicure is a natural follow-up. Then see if you can convince your partner to give you a nice back rub to finish the whole day off. Try to leave all distractions behind as you let yourself be pampered.
Set Aside A Large Time Slot
It’s hard to feel relaxed if all the time you’ve given yourself is half of your lunch break on a Wednesday afternoon.
If you’re feeling stressed, promise yourself you’ll unwind as soon as you get home from work. And then give yourself adequate time to truly unwind and relax. This could mean you need two hours of relaxation before you feel recharged, or it could mean you need an entire dedicated day off.
Whatever it is, make sure that you give yourself the time that you need, because you deserve it.
Get Good Sleep
Sometimes, all we really need is a good night’s sleep. Or a really long nap. The rest of the pampering is nice, but sleep is what your body needs in order to recharge and help you be ready to take on the rest of your week.
One of the best ways to ensure that you get better sleep is to get rid of distractions. Leave your phone in the other room, so you won’t be tempted to roll over and check your email when you really should be sleeping. Setting up the right environment to sleep is important, too. Do this by turning off the lights. Fill the room with pleasant sounds, or make sure that it’s completely silent, whichever helps you sleep more peacefully.
Scent is proven to have an effect on the quality of our sleep, as well. Misting your sheets and bedding with a linen spray in a scent such as lavender will calm you down and help you relax, sending you off to sleep with peaceful thoughts and a clear mind.
