Note from Lana | Lifestyle Queen Bee: Can I be honest for a sec? I HATE seafood. I can eat tuna 1-2 times a year and every so often can pop a few popcorn shrimps into my mouth but that’s as far as it goes. Bring the daughter of a woman born in St. Lucia with 4 of my 5 older siblings being born there + being HUGE seafood lovers, I definitely was the odd (wo)man out. Given the fact I am anemic (iron deficiency) and I don’t eat seafood or eggs (both which are great sources of the iron I need), let’s just say it’s been a challenge to maintain my iron levels. While I am not a huge fan of seafood, I know I’m in the minority. Aside from the great intake of iron you get from consuming fish, there are other great health benefits. My guest, Ian, is giving you all some ways on how you can Continue reading “Introducing More Fish into Your Diet”

As a Lifestyle blogger, it’s one of the things I strive to do – introduce my readers to things I’ve discovered that you may love too! That being said, I’ve decided to start a monthly feature where I Continue reading “Things I’m Currently Obsessing Over: February Edition”

If you follow me on Social Media or even read my last post, you’ll know I have a soft spot in my heart for Fall. While some people are sad to see Fall come around as it marks the end of Summer and warm weather, I like to look at it positively. Fall means a time for new beginnings and change. It’s also a time to reset your goals and refocus for the final months of the year. I like to set goals for not only myself personally, but for Continue reading “Here Are My 20 Goals for Fall. With Canada Day just days away (& Memorial Day for my American readers), many of us are planning a great BBQ with friends and family.
$100 bucks says you’ll be serving hamburgers. No judgment here because so will I (who doesn’t love a great burger?) but why not serve up a twist on the summertime staple and have your guests drooling? Rock their tastebuds with the combo of smoky chipotle and creamy ranch in this delicious spicy ranch burger!
If you’ve never made burgers before, Continue reading “Spicy Ranch Burgers”

Nobody wants to have yellow teeth. Sometimes you don’t even realize your sparkling white smile has taken a downward turn until you wear that new shade if red lipstick and *gasp* see the difference in your smile. Embarrassing, right? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. We’ve all had moments of ‘less than stellar white’ smiles. That coffee-a-day (or 2 – guilty as charged) doesn’t exactly help your cause. Now before you lose your mind thinking I’m going to suggest quitting your much required daily cup of sanity, I’ve got a solution for you – Charcoal.
No, No. Not the kind you’ll be using this weekend to fire up the grill. Activated charcoal which is totally safe (& good for you!) to consume. Before you write me off as crazy, Continue reading “Brushing w/ Activated Charcoal + 5 Things To Do This Weekend”
