LQB Blogger Interview: Dawn Craven

As I get closer to my one year blog anniversary, one thing I have truly enjoyed was getting the opportunity to (virtually) meet so many talented, amazing bloggers! My monthly blogger feature was something that was slow to start but has picked up tremendously so thank you to all the past features & I’m excited to share all the great ones scheduled! Today, I’m introducing you all to Dawn Craven from her blog, My Life in A Blog. She’s the youngest blogger I’ve featured & looks like she’ll be going places!

[ The Interview ]

  1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog.
My name is Dawn Craven, I am a coffee loving optimist who loves to write about random helpful things! I love animals, traveling, and of course writing. My blog is a lifestyle blog that occasionally has posts about beauty, fitness, and traveling! Also, it has tons of helpful tips for people with anxiety and other issues going on in life.
  2. What advice do you have for a newbie blogger?
My advice to a new blogger would definitely be to work hard. Blogging is all about working hard to become successful you have to work hard and to have a great looking blog you have to work hard. Blogging isn’t easy, but it’s always worth it. If you really absolutely love blogging/writing then you should go for it. Some people will try to talk you down or out of it but don’t let them. You have the power to start your blog and you have the power to become successful, all of us do. Work hard, be patient, and never give up!
  3. Where would you like to be in blogging five years from now?
Five years from now, I hope and pray that my blog has a bigger audience. A bigger audience would mean the world to me because I work very hard on my content and blog and people actually reading my work and it getting seen always puts a smile on my face. Also, I hope that my blog continues to inspire and help people all around the world with any tips they might need for any sort of problem they are having in life.
  4. What inspired you to start your blog?
My inspiration came whenever I realized one day how much I’ve actually always written and journaled. One day, I came across this post about blogging and getting started and then I realized this is what I want and need to do! All my life, I’ve always written and planned and just done all of the basic things that a blogger does. I never realized I had it in me until one day, I just decided to go for it!
  5. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
How I motivate myself to keep my blog going is to just remember how important blogging is to me. Blogging is more than just my dream job; it is also a hobby to me. Also remembering that I have an audience to not let down, that they are waiting to read my posts. Waiting for me to inspire them and that’s something that I never want to stop doing. My readers mean the world to me because I know they are reading my content and coming back for more and actually viewing what I work so hard on!
  6. How much time do you spend blogging?
Blogging is something I do on a daily basis, even on my off days. My posts go up daily, Monday through Friday, and I take weekends off. I spend about almost an entire day blogging, I wake up and make coffee and then start writing, then I edit, post, schedule, etc. That lasts about 3 hours because I am extremely OCD when it comes to my blog and posts. Then I get off for a few hours and do whatever it is I need to do for the day and usually end up back on my laptop checking stats, writing ahead on posts, making sure everything is the way it needs to be etc. That takes about another 3 or sometimes 4 hours. After that, I get on social media and communicate with my readers and other bloggers, which usually lasts for a while. So in total, I spend about 8 or 9 hours in a day blogging, researching or doing something for my blog!
  7. Is blogging your profession or just a hobby?
Actually, blogging is both to me. Hopefully soon, I plan on turning it into a profession but for now, it is a hobby of mine. Blogging is my favorite thing to do because I post what I would like and also design it the way I like.
  8. Did you have any professional help or did you create the blog yourself?
My blog was actually created and made specifically by me. Created and made by me and all posts were made by me also. I would much rather prefer me do my own work and design it myself so it’s all uniquely created by me!
  9. What is your favorite part about blogging?
My favorite part about blogging is getting to be so creative! You get to create your own posts, write about what you love, design it the way you would like, etc. which is why I love blogging! Not only that but I get to help so many people out there. My blog is full of helpful tips for topics like anxiety, and other life tips.
  10. Tell me about your proudest achievement.
My proudest achievement has to be starting my blog and getting it this far! Also, creating so many posts and such great quality content. I am proud of how hard I’ve worked on my blog and that I’m not just blogging for me, I’m also blogging to help others through hard times. That is an amazing achievement to me and it really makes me feel great.
